Persona 4 Revival reveals Velvet Room details and character profiles
Atlus has detailed the remake's Velvet Room systems, character roles, hands-on events and February 2027 launch.
Persona 4 Revival is pulling back the curtain on its Velvet Room, with Atlus outlining the roles of Igor, Margaret and Marie alongside several systems that will shape Persona fusion. The update also confirms that the remake is due on 18 February 2027, with the Nintendo Switch 2 edition following on 20 May. 1
What Atlus has revealed
The Velvet Room is described as a special space where players can combine multiple Personas into new ones, inheriting skills as they build a party around their preferred abilities. Atlus also warns that fusion accidents can occasionally produce an unintended Persona, adding a little risk to an otherwise carefully planned system. 1
Igor remains the room's master, while Margaret serves as his attendant and supports the protagonist with the Persona Compendium. Marie is introduced as the mysterious girl encountered in Yasoinaba. The three profiles are part of the latest official character and feature update. 1
Marie will also sell Skill Cards. Once a card has been obtained, it is added to her catalogue and can be bought again, giving players a more dependable route to teaching specific skills. Fusion Forecasts will provide advance information about the conditions and effects attached to certain combinations, including stronger skills and stat improvements. 1
More Persona 4 Revival events
The same update promotes a nationwide hands-on tour running from 14 November to 13 December across five Japanese cities and six venues. Visitors can choose between a story-focused trial covering the opening section and an exploration-and-battle session set in Yukiko's Castle. Some dates will also include a Kuma meet-and-greet. 2
Atlus is separately running a Persona series quiz from 31 October to 1 November. It will draw 50 random questions from a pool of 100 and cover games from Revelations: Persona through Persona 5 Royal, Persona 5: The Phantom X and Persona 4 Revival. 1
Our opinion
This is a useful update because it explains what the Velvet Room actually does rather than simply showing another character trailer. The combination of familiar fusion systems, Skill Cards and conditional Fusion Forecasts suggests that Persona 4 Revival is aiming to make its remake-specific presentation feel substantial while preserving the series' most recognisable routines. The official material is still a feature overview, not a full systems breakdown, but it gives players a clearer idea of what to expect before launch.
Persona 4 Revival launches on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation 5 on 18 February 2027, with the Switch 2 version arriving on 20 May. 1
