Dungeon Crawler and Auto-Battler Adventure Bad House Launches Steam Demo

Bad House now has a Steam demo, bringing its playful horror-comedy dungeon crawler and auto-battler to life ahead of an early 2027 PC release.

Bad House has opened its Steam demo, inviting players to ignore the warning and descend into a shifting basement packed with monsters, traps and suspiciously generous leftovers.

Gamezebo reported the demo on 7 October 2026, ahead of the full PC release planned for early 2027. The game comes from solo developer Andrew Morrish, whose previous work includes Kingsway, with The Arcade Crew handling publishing.

The premise is cheerfully grim: move into a new house, choose a character and skills, then head below ground while automatic combat resolves the battles. Your preparation still matters, because abilities work with items placed around each room, including bombs, spells, traps and summons.

The basement is made up of multiple, constantly changing floors populated by demons, skeletons, bats, undead creatures and other unidentified residents. The demo covers the first four floors, introduces co-tenants Blake and Rory, and lets players explore the living area before the mystery gets even stranger.

Steam lists the game as a single-player RPG and strategy title, with the demo available from the Bad House store page. The storefront currently gives the full game a 2027 release window rather than a more specific date.

Our opinion

Bad House has a strong hook because its domestic setting makes the dungeon-crawling routine instantly readable: the house is familiar, but every trip downstairs turns it into a hostile puzzle box. The auto-battling focus should also give the demo a useful point of difference, shifting attention towards builds, room preparation and the risk of pushing one floor further.

The first four floors sound like a sensible slice for a demo, especially with several characters and a living area to break up the descent. If the changing basement and item combinations keep surprising players, Bad House could make its eventual 2027 launch a particularly entertaining home invasion.
