Ghost Eater invites players into its Steam beta
Ghost Eater is inviting players to request access to its Steam beta for a manga-inspired sci-fi action adventure.

Ghost Eater is opening beta sign-ups on Steam for a hack-and-slash action adventure built around manga-inspired graphics and a branching science-fiction world.
A combat-first sci-fi world
The game puts players in a dense, interconnected setting and centres its action on stylish combat rather than long cutscenes or voice-over. Alpha Beta Gamer says the playtest includes 24 enemy types across scripted and randomised arena fights, followed by six bosses.
The main weapon uses a five-hit combo with customisable combo enders. Three secondary weapon classes add their own three-hit combos and unique skills, while abilities and passives let players shape a preferred build. The game also ties its branching narrative to combat instead of treating the story as a separate sequence of scenes.
How to join the beta
The official Steam listing is the sign-up route: players can request access to the Ghost Eater playtest from the game page. The announcement checked for this report does not give a public beta start date, so requesting access should not be read as confirmation of immediate entry.
Our opinion
Ghost Eater has a sensible pitch: make the fighting expressive enough that the story can grow out of what the player does, rather than stopping the action every few minutes to explain the world. That is a harder promise than a stack of flashy screenshots, but the combination of combo customisation, multiple weapon classes and arena encounters at least points at a game with room for experimentation. The beta will have to prove that its style survives repetition; 24 enemy types sound generous until a combat system starts asking players to solve the same problem in different costumes.
