Resolution Games has released a playable demo for GrimKeep, its dark-fantasy roguelite dice-builder, on Steam for PC and Mac — and put a date on the full game. It arrives on 30 November 2026 for $14.99.

The demo covers the Outskirts region from the opening through to its boss fight, and hands you three heroes: the Huntress and the Beast from the off, with the Feral to unlock. Upgrades earned in the demo persist between runs. It is live now and stays available throughout Steam Next Fest until 26 October.

A dice-builder set in a nightmare fairytale

GrimKeep is built around rolling dice and arranging them into poker-style hands to trigger attacks, then stacking items into a build that fires off bigger numbers. The full release will carry more than 200 items, 60 monsters, seven heroes and 30 hero skills, plus regions beyond the Outskirts and systems called the Crucible, the Ritual and Shortcuts that reshape items and open up the map.

The premise is blunter than most in the genre. You fight through a cursed city to reach the Princess, and the studio’s own summary of the goal ends with two words: then end her.

Our opinion

Resolution Games is best known for Demeo and its other tabletop work, so a flat $14.99 dice-builder with a demo and a six-week runway reads as a deliberate change of register: no early-access crawl, no tiered editions, just a slice and a date. That is a confident posture in a genre where the biggest names trained players to expect years of incremental patching. The restraint only pays off if the Outskirts slice shows enough of the item and hand-building depth to justify the price up front, and that is what the Next Fest window will settle.
