ANTONBLAST launches on PS4 and PS5 on 15 October
The explosive pixel-art platformer brings its previously released content updates to both PlayStation consoles on 15 October.
ANTONBLAST is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on 15 October, with publisher Joystick Ventures and developer Summitsphere bringing the explosive platformer to both consoles. 1
What is happening
The PS4 and PS5 versions include the game’s previously released content updates, including THE END. The game is already available on Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam. 1
ANTONBLAST casts players as Dynamite Anton, or his colleague Annie, in a fast-paced platformer built around smashing through strange worlds, fighting oversized bosses and escaping before each level’s countdown ends. Its central objective is to set detonators, recover Anton’s spirits and get out before Happy Hour expires. 1
Why it matters
The PlayStation release broadens access to a game whose hand-animated pixel art and destructive movement are designed around quick, chaotic runs. It also brings the complete post-launch content package to Sony’s older and newer consoles at the same time.
The game is listed on Steam as a fast-paced action platformer, while the PlayStation version brings its existing content to PS4 and PS5 rather than announcing a separate edition or spin-off. 2
Our opinion
A simultaneous PS4 and PS5 launch is a practical fit for a deliberately old-school platformer. It keeps the audience broad without asking the game to disguise what makes it distinctive: loud movement, chunky pixel art and a level structure built around momentum. The real test will be whether the console release feels as responsive as the PC and Switch versions, but that is a hands-on question, not something this announcement answers.
