Yo-kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain is an interesting revival because the series has always mixed collection, comedy and local folklore more freely than most monster-catching rivals. A Switch 2 release gives Level-5 a chance to make the world feel busier and more welcoming, but the real test is whether it understands why players loved the odd little creatures in the first place. Nostalgia opens the door; new ideas need to walk through it.
