World of Slime has released an updated PC demo on Steam for Steam Next Fest, adding the Noecheon Mountain region and its settlement, Noecheon Village. The demo is available now, while the full casual adventure MMORPG remains planned for Q4 2026, according to the game's Steam listing. 1

The update comes from TEAM42 and expands the slice of the game available to prospective players. Noecheon Mountain is presented as a storm-battered area where lightning strikes are common. The environment includes lightning-struck trees and lightning rods, with the latter tied to the village's effort to turn a dangerous natural phenomenon into a source of energy. 2

What the updated demo adds

The new region also brings new creatures to capture and synthesise. Players exploring around Noecheon Mountain will mainly encounter Electric-type and Wind-type slimes, giving the update a clear reason to revisit the demo rather than simply replaying its existing areas. 2

Noecheon Village sits deep within the mountain. Its residents are wary of strangers, but the village has developed its own culture and practical knowledge after years of dealing with lightning strikes. That setting gives the new area more personality than a simple combat zone, at least on paper, with exploration and local world-building sitting alongside the new slime-hunting loop.

The wider game is built around capturing slimes, combining them to discover new variants, and travelling with a bonded partner. Steam describes a cooperative adventure with puzzles, obstacles, NPC quests and PvP options, while the demo gives players an early look at how those systems fit together. 1

TEAM42's official Steam page lists the game as coming to PC in Q4 2026. The updated demo therefore works as an early introduction rather than a finished representation of the final release. The store page also links to the developer's website, giving players a first-party route for following future announcements. 1

Our opinion

This is the sort of demo update that makes a festival build more useful: it adds a named region, a distinct environmental idea and new slime types instead of merely polishing the opening hours. The lightning-rod premise gives Noecheon Mountain an immediately readable identity, and the Electric and Wind-type creatures provide a straightforward reason to explore it.

The caveat is that World of Slime is still targeting Q4 2026. The updated demo can show how the capture, synthesis and exploration systems are taking shape, but it cannot yet answer how much variety the full MMORPG will sustain. For now, the new area makes the Steam Next Fest demo a more substantial sample of TEAM42's colourful slime adventure.
