Frosthaven launches version 1.0 on Steam and Epic Games Store

Snapshot Games' digital adaptation of the board game leaves Early Access with a 30% launch discount and online co-op.

Frosthaven tactical combat gameplay on a snowy battlefield

Frosthaven has left Early Access and launched version 1.0 on Steam and the Epic Games Store, giving Snapshot Games' digital adaptation of Isaac Childres' board game its full release. 1

The tactical RPG originally entered Early Access in July 2025. The 1.0 launch adds the finished release build to its existing single-player and online co-op framework, with support for parties of two to four players. A 30% launch discount is running on both PC storefronts, while a Complete Edition bundles the digital soundtrack and artbook. 1

What Frosthaven offers

Frosthaven is a dark-fantasy strategy RPG built around ability-card combat. Players choose from six starting classes, including Banner Spear, Boneshaper, Drifter, Geminate, Blinkblade and Deathwalker, then unlock additional classes while progressing through the campaign. Each class has its own abilities and playstyle, so party composition and the timing of cards matter as much as simply defeating an enemy. 1

The campaign also includes an outpost to manage. Players construct and upgrade buildings, unlock systems and balance resources between expeditions. The game moves through different environments and seasons, with new enemies and bosses adding pressure to the turn-based battles. Newcomers can choose difficulty settings, while returning board-game players can pursue a more demanding version of the same tactical puzzle. 1

Snapshot Games and Arc Games describe the release as a digital evolution of the original board-game experience. Steam lists the PC version as supporting single-player, multiplayer and online co-op, alongside cloud saves and family sharing. 2

Our opinion

A proper 1.0 launch matters for a game built around long campaigns and layered systems. Frosthaven's combination of class planning, outpost management and co-op gives the release a clearer proposition than an Early Access build: there is now a finished campaign framework to commit to, with the board game's tactical identity intact. The 30% launch discount is useful for strategy fans, although the size of the campaign makes this a substantial time investment rather than a quick pick-up-and-play RPG. Frosthaven is available now on Steam and the Epic Games Store. 1
