Wagyan figure joins Bandai Namco's Gigantic Series
Bandai Namco's 26cm Wagyan collectible is now open for Japanese reservations, with February 2027 shipping planned.
Wagyan Land (ワギャンランド) mascot Wagyan is getting a very large new collectible through Bandai Namco's Gigantic Series, with Premium Bandai reservations now open in Japan.
The figure stands at approximately 26cm tall and recreates Wagyan, the green hero from Namco's 1989 game. The product is made from PVC and comes with the figure, a base and an instruction manual. The announcement image shows the figure's wide-eyed expression, open mouth and distinctive fin-like silhouette alongside the Wagyan Land branding.1
Premium Bandai lists the product at ¥17,600 including tax. The planned shipping date is February 2027, while reservations are scheduled to remain open until 11pm JST on 24 November 2026. That deadline is subject to stock: Premium Bandai says orders may close earlier if the preparation quantity is reached.1
For UK and European fans, the awkward bit is availability. This is a Japanese Premium Bandai listing, and the product page linked by the announcement is not the same thing as a confirmed UK or EU release. Bandai Namco's international Premium Bandai storefronts exist, but this announcement does not confirm that this particular Wagyan figure will be offered through them. Anyone interested should therefore treat the Japanese reservation window, price and shipping plan as the confirmed details rather than assuming a wider launch.2
Wagyan is an unusually deep-cut mascot for a modern collectible. The original Wagyan Land was built around colourful platforming and the character's signature sound-wave attacks, which could stun enemies. The figure is not a new game announcement or a remake reveal; it is a premium merchandise release that turns a familiar retro character into a display piece. That distinction matters, especially when a striking product image can make an old series look newly revived.1

Our opinion
This is exactly the sort of oddball retro release that makes a merchandise line feel worth watching. Wagyan is recognisable without being another predictable mascot choice, and the 26cm scale gives the character enough presence to work as a proper shelf centrepiece rather than a small desk trinket. The price is firmly in collector territory, though, and the current announcement gives overseas fans no confirmed route to buy it locally. For now, it is a charming Japanese reservation opportunity, not evidence of a broader Wagyan Land comeback.
