Story of Seasons brings farming to mixed reality
Marvelous is bringing its gentle farming life sim to Meta VR Glasses and Quest headsets in spring 2027.
Story of Seasons: Your Wonderful Life is taking its cosy farming loop into mixed reality. Marvelous and Grounding have announced a new version for Meta VR Glasses, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S, with a spring 2027 release window.
A farm you can reach into
The pitch is familiar but the perspective is new: players will grow crops, care for animals and meet the residents of Forgotten Valley without needing a controller. The game adds virtual minigames for milking cows and shearing sheep, turning the everyday work of the farm into something designed for hand tracking.
A Wonderful Life, rebuilt for mixed reality
This is based on Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, the farming game that began life on GameCube before returning in remake form on modern consoles and PC. The mixed-reality edition keeps the series’ domestic pace while using the space around the player as part of the farm, rather than presenting it as a conventional flat-screen world.
Our opinion
This is exactly the sort of game mixed reality needs: not another proof-of-concept toy, but a familiar routine with a reason to look around and use your hands. Farming is already about small physical gestures, so watering a crop or tending an animal in front of you makes more sense than forcing the series into a frantic VR format. The question is whether the extra immersion earns its place beside the excellent existing remake. If the hand tracking is dependable and the quiet rhythm survives the move, Your Wonderful Life could be a surprisingly natural fit for Meta’s glasses and headsets.
