Primal Rumble beta opens on Quest
The mixed-reality comedy card battler from Impact Inked and Play XD is inviting a limited number of players to test its slapstick arena battles.

Primal Rumble, a comedy card battler built for VR and mixed reality, has opened a limited beta on Quest. Impact Inked and developer Play XD are using the test to tune the game before launch.
What's actually going on
Beta players can collect and compete with the game’s Primals, try new moves, experiment with card decks and help shape the final experience. Matches support up to four collectors in a mixed-reality arena, where the creatures appear as vinyl-statue-like characters in the player’s real space.
Each card represents a move for a Primal, played one at a time in a turn-based battle loop. That makes Primal Rumble sound less like a frantic VR workout and more like a tabletop scrap that has escaped into your living room.
How to join
Beta places are limited. Players can find joining details through the game’s Discord server, while Primal Rumble is already available to wishlist on Meta Quest.
Our opinion
A mixed-reality card game needs a strong gimmick, and turning your room into a playground for ridiculous creature battles is at least pointing in the right direction. The beta will show whether the joke has enough mechanical legs to survive beyond the first laugh.
