Blades of Mirage brings Brightlands to Tokyo Game Show
Agate and Red Dunes Games will showcase their Southeast Asian-inspired action RPG at Tokyo Game Show 2026 with a new trailer.

Blades of Mirage is heading to Tokyo Game Show 2026, where Agate and Red Dunes Games will put the Southeast Asian-inspired action RPG in front of players at Hall 7, Booth N03. A new trailer also gives the game a sharper spotlight ahead of its release on PC and consoles.
The announcement describes Blades of Mirage as an action RPG adventure set in the ancient realm of Brightlands. Players follow Mira as she confronts corrupted guardians, uncovers the truth about her past and works through puzzle-focused exploration in a handcrafted world rooted in Southeast Asian culture.
Combat is built around fast reactions and deliberate choices. The announcement says bosses guard sacred relics and demand that players learn their attack patterns, adapt their approach, and use selected runes and skills with careful timing. One mistimed move, and Mira is apparently having a much worse day.
The game also promises new abilities that affect both combat and puzzle-solving, opening previously inaccessible areas. Agate and Red Dunes Games say the adventure offers about eight hours of gameplay, with the focus on variety, discovery and crafted encounters. The developers cite Death’s Door, Tunic and Bastion as influences.
Tokyo Game Show 2026 marks the event’s 30th anniversary and its first five-day edition, according to the announcement. Blades of Mirage will be part of the showcase of upcoming and independent games, giving visitors a chance to try the project rather than simply admire another glossy trailer from a safe distance.
Our opinion
A Tokyo Game Show appearance is a useful test for Blades of Mirage: the pitch leans hard on timing, exploration and atmosphere, so hands-on play matters more than another list of influences. The trailer has the right job — show whether Brightlands can make its combat and puzzles feel as distinctive as its setting. The full release date has not been announced, but this is exactly the sort of promising indie adventure that should be watched closely.
