007 First Light delayed to March 2027 on Switch 2

IO Interactive has delayed the Nintendo Switch 2 version of 007 First Light again. The game is now planned for March 2027, although the developer has not yet announced an exact release date.

What's actually going on

In an official statement, IO Interactive said the additional time will be used to polish the game’s performance on Nintendo Switch 2. The studio also said the same demo will be playable at Tokyo Game Show this week.

The Switch 2 edition was previously expected this autumn after an earlier delay moved it away from the game’s original simultaneous launch window. The new March 2027 window is therefore a second change to the platform’s schedule.

What happens next

IO Interactive says it will share the exact date closer to launch. The PC version is also receiving a technology-focused update with path tracing and DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction support, while further planned additions include story DLC, extra TacSim challenges, a new gadget, New Game+ and photo mode.

Our opinion

A delay is frustrating, but a performance pass is exactly the sort of work a demanding port needs. The important detail now is whether March 2027 becomes a firm landing date rather than another waypoint.
