007 First Light's free Extended Operations DLC is live
IO Interactive's 1.3.0 update adds New Game+, a photo mode, a punishing 00 difficulty and new TacSim content to its James Bond origin story.

007 First Light has its first major expansion, and it is free. IO Interactive pushed Update 1.3.0, titled Extended Operations, live on 1 October 2026 for PC and consoles, bundling a New Game+ mode, a full photo mode, a punishing new difficulty and fresh TacSim content alongside more than 700 fixes and improvements.
New Game+ is the headline addition. It unlocks once the campaign has been completed, and from there it lets players carry a seasoned agent's toolkit back through the story: any outfit can be equipped from the journal at a checkpoint, and gadgets can be swapped mid-mission rather than at chapter boundaries, with availability still capped by story progression so Q's inventions arrive in the order the campaign introduces them. The mode also brings a new 00 difficulty, in which enemies spot Bond faster and hit harder, and resources only restore a fraction of a gadget's charges.
The new photo mode freezes the action and hands over camera settings, overlays, filters, visual effects and character poses, letting players compose shots of Bond, the locations and the set pieces from their own angle.
New things to do
TacSim, the game's repeatable challenge suite, gains two additions. Valhalla Protocol puts players behind the wheel of the Aston Martin Valhalla for a score-attack run through Slovakia, with machine guns and missile launchers mounted and ready, while the Jungle Heist operation sends Bond back to The Pearl Hotel in Vietnam to lift documents from a villa safe. A pair of weapons, the Storm 12 Gauge and the Squire Marksman Rifle, join the armoury, along with three new outfits.
Smaller additions round out the update. Jack the Bulldog now lives beside Dr Selina Tan's TacSim area at MI6 HQ and can be petted, weapon-handling animations across the arsenal have been refined, and Bond can now be thrown off ledges just as his opponents can. Players who link the game to an IOI Account before 1 November 2026 unlock the Grey Standard outfit, and a Twitch drop runs from 1 to 16 October.
Our opinion
The 00 difficulty is the most interesting thing in this patch, because it finally answers the question a Bond game should always pose: whether the player actually deserves the number. Making enemies more alert and starving gadget charges turns familiar rooms into problems to be solved rather than set pieces to be admired, and bolting that onto New Game+ is smarter than selling it as a separate mode. The Valhalla Protocol, meanwhile, leans on the one thing IO Interactive has been polishing since the Hitman days, which is letting a player make their own mess in a well-built space. Seven hundred fixes will not make headlines, but a studio still sharpening its game months after launch is exactly what a licensed Bond outing needs if it wants a life beyond the first playthrough.
