Saimajikku launches on G123 on 23 October
The science-and-magic roguelike RPG will launch as a free-to-play browser game on G123, with pre-registration rewards including Archimedes.
Saimajikku (サイマジック) will begin its full service on G123 on 23 October, CTW has announced. The free-to-play browser RPG combines modern scientific ideas with fantasy magic, sending players into another world where each run can produce a different build.12
The game is being presented as a roguelike RPG rather than a conventional, fixed-progression adventure. Battles run automatically, while players choose from discoveries that alter a spell's power, range or effects. Those choices can be combined in different ways, so the route through each adventure is intended to shape how the next fight plays out.1
A science-meets-magic browser RPG
The premise follows a modern protagonist who arrives in a fantasy world and uses knowledge of science to develop magic. The game's companions are inspired by famous figures from scientific history, while the wider story sets the player against a church that treats magic users as heretics.1
G123 says Saimajikku will be playable in a browser on PC and mobile without a download or installation. The service will be free to play with optional item purchases, and the official site is already accepting pre-registrations through the game's LINE and Discord accounts, as well as G123's own channels.1
A total of 50,000 pre-registrations will unlock Archimedes as a bonus companion. G123 is also offering an exclusive mobile wallpaper to people who add the game's official LINE account.1
Our opinion
Saimajikku has a clearer hook than a generic fantasy browser RPG: its science-and-magic premise is tied directly to the way players build spells during each run. The important test will be whether those choices create genuinely different strategies or simply shuffle a small set of upgrades, but the 23 October launch gives players a near-term chance to find out. The browser format and no-download requirement also make it an easy game to try, although the optional purchases will decide how generous the finished experience feels.
