Fortnite brings Obsession’s Nikki Freeman into Fortnitemares 2026
Fortnite’s Halloween event adds Obsession character Nikki Freeman, complete with a reverse-walk emote and film-inspired gear.
Fortnite’s 2026 Fortnitemares event has added Obsession character Nikki Freeman, played by Inde Navarrette, to its Halloween line-up. Epic’s event announcement lists Obsession among the crossover properties arriving during October’s wider Fortnitemares celebration.1
The in-game version of Nikki recreates the character’s distinctive red zebra-print top and denim shorts, while a second outfit uses a blood-splattered look. She also arrives with a broken-bottle-inspired pickaxe and the “No No No…” card emote, which references a scene from the film.2
The crossover’s most talked-about extra is a reverse-walk emote based on Nikki. Some players compared the unusual animation to a GTA NPC, while others said they wanted the emote themselves. That split reaction has made the emote the immediate talking point rather than the outfit itself.2
Nikki’s set also includes the One Wish Willow back bling. Epic’s age-rating rules mean younger players may see a generic character model instead of the full outfit, according to the report.2 The crossover launched in Fortnite’s Item Shop on October 21, with the items available for V-Bucks.2
Our opinion
This is a smart Halloween crossover because it gives Obsession a recognisable character rather than treating the film as a disposable logo drop. The reverse walk is the bit with a chance of lasting beyond the promotion, though the reaction suggests Epic is selling the joke as much as the skin. For players who enjoy Fortnite’s increasingly odd pop-culture wardrobe, Nikki is a memorable addition; for everyone else, the emote may be the only part worth watching.
The wider Fortnitemares 2026 event is now mixing film, television and game properties into one seasonal package. Nikki’s arrival shows how far that strategy has moved beyond traditional horror icons: a character can become Fortnite material if it has a distinctive silhouette, prop or animation that players instantly recognise.
