RuneScape Dragonwilds gets a co-op-focused 1.0.0.5 patch

Jagex’s 1.0.0.5 patch targets multiplayer connections, corrupted saves, raid bugs and platform-specific issues in RuneScape Dragonwilds.

Adventurers face a towering dragon in the wilderness of RuneScape Dragonwilds.

RuneScape Dragonwilds is getting a sizeable 1.0.0.5 update aimed at making cooperative play more reliable, while Jagex continues investigating corrupted saves.

What's actually going on

Jagex’s Steam announcement focuses first on multiplayer connections. Players should no longer be blocked from joining worlds once more than two people are already present, including a related Xbox issue that prevented some players from connecting to busy worlds.

The patch also addresses a save-corruption problem affecting players who join modded dedicated servers from a console. Jagex is testing ways to restore missing world and character saves, but those recovery tools are not ready yet. In the meantime, the character-appearance button is being removed temporarily because it has been identified as the most common trigger.

The Scorned Wilderness raid receives several fixes, including more reliable enemy respawns on a second attempt, safer respawn points after death and access to Summon Shelter in the hub. Existing characters should also unlock the Abyssal Whip recipe correctly.

There are smaller platform and quality-of-life changes too. DLSS and FSR options are being added on Windows and Xbox Game Pass, while Nintendo Switch 2 gets a fix for video capture. Jagex is already working towards version 1.0.1 and plans to discuss the wider roadmap at RuneFest.

Our opinion

The co-op fixes are the right priority for RuneScape Dragonwilds. Survival games live or die by the quality of the shared world, so a patch that stops friends being locked out is more valuable than a flashy new feature. The save-recovery work is the uncomfortable caveat: temporarily removing character customisation is sensible if it protects players, but the real measure of this update will be whether the missing worlds can eventually be restored.
