PAYDAY: Aces High launches as a four-player VR crime FPS
PAYDAY: Aces High launches on PC and Meta Quest as a four-player VR-only crime FPS, with free missions planned after release.
PAYDAY: Aces High is now available on PC and Meta Quest as a VR-only entry in the co-operative crime-shooter series. Fast Travel Games’ launch gives players a new way to handle the franchise’s familiar heists: by physically aiming weapons, operating gadgets and carrying loot through each job. 1
The game supports up to four players, allowing a crew to divide responsibilities during a robbery. Its arsenal includes a range of firearms alongside tools such as grapples and sentry guns, while four skill paths — Mastermind, Ghost, Technician and Enforcer — let players shape how they approach each mission. 1
The PC version is available through Steam for £19.99, while the Meta Quest release costs £29.99. The Steam listing confirms support for Steam Frame, OpenXR, Index and Oculus Rift S, as well as Quest headsets connected to a PC. 2
Fast Travel Games says additional missions will be added as free updates. The first extra mission is planned for roughly one month after launch, although the publisher has not supplied a more specific date in the announcement covered by 4Gamer. 1
The official Steam listing describes the release as a four-player VR co-op heist game, with players able to combine weapons, gadgets and skills across jobs. That matches the central pitch of the launch: PAYDAY: Aces High is built around coordination and physical interaction rather than simply converting a traditional flat-screen shooter to a headset. 2
Our opinion
PAYDAY: Aces High has a clear reason to exist beyond the series name. VR makes the basic heist routine more tactile, and the four-player structure gives the new format an obvious social hook. The free-mission promise is also useful for keeping a co-op game active, but its value will depend on how quickly those updates arrive and whether they add genuinely different jobs rather than more familiar corridors and firefights. For now, the launch is most relevant to VR players looking for a dedicated co-op shooter, not to readers expecting a conventional new PAYDAY sequel.
The game is available now on PC and Meta Quest.
