I Am Your Beast VR adds nine free levels in Support Group update

I Am Your Beast VR is getting a sizeable free post-launch expansion, with the Support Group update adding an epilogue campaign built around nine new levels. Flat2VR says the update shifts the viewpoint away from the game's usual hunter and towards members of the Covert Operations Initiative, the organisation that has spent the game trying to deal with retired agent Alphonse Harding.¹

That change in perspective gives the update a neat story hook. Instead of simply sending players through another sequence of challenges, Support Group follows COI agents who survived encounters with Harding and are now recounting their heavily exaggerated versions of those experiences. The new scenarios play out in real time, turning the organisation's attempts to explain away Harding's abilities into the basis for another run of action-focused set pieces.¹

The expansion is not entirely new to the wider I Am Your Beast series. The same story expansion arrived in the original game in 2024, but this release brings it to I Am Your Beast VR as a free update. The VR edition is listed on Steam, where the official store page also provides the gameplay artwork used for this article's hero image.²

Support Group is available now for owners of I Am Your Beast VR. The update also arrives alongside a wider patch adding official support for bHaptics hardware, including the TactSuit Pro and Air, TactVisor and TactSleeve. Those accessories are optional, but their inclusion gives players with compatible equipment another way to approach the game's deliberately physical VR action.¹

The patch also adds an online leaderboard that shows a player's global rank after each completed level. Scores and times from before the update are not added retroactively, so the rankings will begin as a fresh comparison point rather than a complete record of every previous run. Four new in-game achievements are included as well.¹

The update makes a few balancing adjustments without presenting itself as a wholesale rethink of the game. Each level rank now allows two additional seconds, a small change intended to make the time-limited challenges more equitable while preserving the pressure that defines them. That matters in VR, where a little extra room to recover can make a difficult sequence feel demanding rather than needlessly awkward.¹

Our opinion

A free nine-level expansion is a strong reason for existing players to return, particularly when it adds a new narrative viewpoint rather than merely recycling the original campaign's structure. The COI framing also suits I Am Your Beast VR's heightened action-thriller tone: these are survivors trying to make sense of an impossible opponent, which is a more interesting premise than a generic post-launch challenge pack. The bHaptics support, leaderboards, achievements and extra time help round out the update, but the nine-level Support Group campaign is the real headline here. Players who enjoyed the original VR release now have a fresh reason to step back into Harding's world.
