Our opinion
Bringing Monster Hunter Wilds to Switch 2 on December 4 gives Nintendo’s new hardware a very large creature to wrestle with. Portability is attractive, but a hunting game lives or dies on frame rate, image quality and whether four-player chaos remains readable when the monster starts redecorating the landscape with hunters. The date makes this worth watching; the technical details will decide whether it is a proper hunt or a compromise wearing a big sword.
