Gran Turismo 7's Spec IV update lands on 15 October with six cars
Update 1.72 brings the Sportsland SUGO circuit and six cars to Gran Turismo 7 on 15 October, with the second half of the free Spec IV update following in December.

Polyphony Digital will release the first half of Gran Turismo 7's Spec IV update on 15 October as Update 1.72, adding a new circuit and six cars to the racing sim. The second part of the free update is scheduled for December.
Sportsland SUGO leads the content drop
The headline addition is Sportsland SUGO, a real circuit in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, that has not previously appeared in the series. The car list spans four decades: a 1986 Citroën 2 CV 6 Charleston, a 1994 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta, a 1987 Honda Civic Si Group A, a 2023 Honda Step WGN Spada Premium Line, a 2026 Mazda RX-VISION GT3 EVO and the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo.
Xiaomi's concept finally reaches the game
The Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo was shown in motion at the Gran Turismo World Series 2026 round in Singapore on 3 October. The collaboration was first announced in June 2025, and a full-scale concept model appeared at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in March 2026. The car is an electric concept with a teardrop cockpit whose halo-shaped tail light doubles as an air outlet, and its cabin uses the 'Sofa Racer' layout Xiaomi has been promoting alongside it.
Our opinion
Ten years of updates have taught Polyphony Digital that a Gran Turismo release is never finished, and splitting a numbered spec across October and December is the clearest admission of that yet. Leading with Sportsland SUGO is the smart part: it is a real track with a tight, technical layout that should suit the slower machinery in this list rather than the Vision Gran Turismo. The 1986 Citroën 2 CV 6 Charleston is the funniest and most revealing inclusion, because dropping a two-cylinder economy car into the same update as an electric hypercar concept is what this series has always done best. The Xiaomi is the marketing hook, but the 2 CV is the car players will still be driving next year.
