Flotsam and Idle Champions bonus pack are free on Epic Games Store

Flotsam and an Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms bonus pack are being offered through the Epic Games Store's latest free promotion, according to a report from 4Gamer.¹ The promotion combines a full game with an in-game reward pack, so the two parts should not be confused: Flotsam is the downloadable game, while the Idle Champions item is extra content for an existing free-to-play strategy title.

Flotsam is a city builder set on a flooded Earth. Players collect plastic, driftwood and other debris from the sea, then use those materials to build a floating settlement for a group of survivors. The settlement can move between locations, allowing players to investigate submerged ruins, unexplored islands and traces of the world before the flood.¹

What the promotion includes

The game focuses on keeping the settlement alive as well as expanding it. Players must provide essentials such as fresh water and food, rescue survivors and animals, and recruit specialists whose skills unlock new buildings and quests. The official Steam listing identifies Flotsam as a floating-city builder, and its artwork reflects the game's central idea: a colourful settlement assembled from the remains of a polluted sea.²

The second part of the promotion is the Morte's Champions of Renown Pack for Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms. The pack includes five champions and 32 platinum chests for each champion, for 160 chests in total, according to 4Gamer.¹ Players need to log into the game through the Epic Games Store during the promotion period to claim the reward pack.

Idle Champions is an idle strategy game built around characters from the Dungeons & Dragons setting. Its formation system asks players to combine champions with complementary abilities, while combat, levelling and gold collection continue automatically.¹

The next giveaway

4Gamer reports that the next Epic Games Store free promotion is scheduled to begin on 13 November 2026 at 1 a.m., featuring Knightica. As with any store promotion, the availability window and regional eligibility should be checked on the Epic Games Store before claiming.

Our opinion

This is a stronger giveaway pairing than the usual two unrelated downloads because Flotsam offers a complete, distinctive city-building game while the Idle Champions item serves players who already have a regular live-service habit. The useful detail is the split between the two offers: claim the game if you want a self-contained survival builder, and treat the champion pack as an incentive for existing Idle Champions players rather than as a second full game.
