The Elder Scrolls VI officially named Sentinel
Bethesda's official name-reveal video confirms the subtitle Sentinel, but offers no release date, platforms or launch window.
Bethesda Game Studios has officially named The Elder Scrolls VI Sentinel, confirming the subtitle in a new name-reveal video published on November 3. The announcement is a small but significant update for a game that has otherwise remained largely out of the spotlight: Bethesda confirms the name and continued development, but does not announce a release date or launch window.1
What the reveal says
The official video is presented as a name reveal for The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel. It does not provide a release date, price, platform list or gameplay demonstration, and Bethesda has not used the announcement to promise a particular launch year. Those omissions matter because the reveal confirms the game's identity without changing what is known about its schedule.1
The video also includes an in-universe quotation that references Hammerfell. That is not enough to establish the final setting, story or playable regions. Fans may reasonably discuss the reference, but it should not be reported as confirmation that the finished game will take place in Hammerfell or that specific characters and mechanics will appear.1
A name, not a release update
The title gives Bethesda a clearer way to refer to its next mainline Elder Scrolls game, and it may become the foundation for future marketing. For now, however, the practical information is limited to the subtitle and the statement that development continues. The official Elder Scrolls channels remain the right place to watch for a genuine platform, date or gameplay announcement.12
That makes this a reveal of branding rather than a release update. There is no new launch window to mark in a calendar, and no reason to infer details from the game's title card beyond what Bethesda actually showed.
Our opinion
Calling the game Sentinel is a welcome scrap of information after years of silence, but it is still only a scrap. The sensible takeaway is the confirmed name, not a guessed setting or release date. Bethesda has opened the next chapter of its marketing; it has not yet told us when we can play it.
