Fallout Day 2026 brings new Fallout 76 pets and more
Bethesda’s Fallout Day 2026 focused on new Fallout 76 pets, fresh Fallout 4 creations, a Fallout Shelter reality series and more.
Fallout Day 2026 was less about a new game reveal and more about Bethesda showing how much life remains in its existing wasteland games. The five-day celebration wrapped with updates for Fallout 76, new Fallout 4 Verified Creations, a release date for Fallout Shelter: The Experiment and several real-world partnerships. Fallout 76 gets a pet-focused update
The headline gameplay news is World Pets, the game’s 72nd free update. From 1 December, players will be able to take dogs, cats, Rad-hogs and Deathclaws beyond their C.A.M.P.s and into the wider world. Each species offers different practical bonuses: dogs can find medical supplies, cats improve fishing bait, Rad-hogs sniff out radioactive material and Deathclaws help with legendary-weapon hunting. Pets can also be levelled up for perks, carrying capacity, buffs and customisation options. 12
Bethesda also highlighted new testing around World Pets and Hideouts, alongside improvements to Skyline Valley’s lighting, terrain and weather. The Skyline Valley update adds bounty hunting, while Bethesda says Fallout 76 has now passed 25 million players. 13
New *Fallout 4* creations and a reality-show date
The event also put the spotlight on new Verified Creations for Fallout 4. FEVer Dreams is a free escape-room-style dungeon, Command Override lets players pilot a robot remotely, and Fathomless is a cosmic-horror expansion planned for 2027. 1
Prime Video’s Fallout Shelter: The Experiment will arrive on 13 January 2027. The competition series is being made with Bethesda, Studio Lambert and Kilter Films, and takes inspiration from the vault-management game. 1
Fallout’s wider 2026 plans
Bethesda announced more Fallout Night events, an expanded World of Fallout exhibition at Las Vegas’ National Atomic Testing Museum, and the return of a Fallout Cafe in Tokyo. Fans can also vote on the flavour of Jones Soda’s Nuka Twist through 31 October. Fallout Day 2027 will take place in Washington, DC, for the franchise’s 30th anniversary. 1

The useful takeaway from Fallout Day is that Bethesda is treating Fallout 76 as a long-running platform rather than a finished product. World Pets is a modest idea, but it gives the game’s existing systems a clearer reason to matter while the wider franchise waits for its next major release. The event did not deliver the new Fallout game announcement some fans wanted, but it did outline a steady stream of things for current players to do.
