Brave Dungeon + Dark Witch's Story: COMBAT comes to PS5 on October 24
Inside System's two-game RPG collection reaches PS5 on October 24, combining dungeon exploration with turn-based card battles.
Inside System is bringing Brave Dungeon + Dark Witch’s Story: COMBAT to PlayStation 5 on October 24, giving Sony’s console a two-game collection that combines dungeon crawling with turn-based card battles. The developer’s announcement also confirms that the PS5 version is available to wishlist through the PlayStation Store. 1
The collection brings together two games from Inside System’s The Legend of Dark Witch universe. Brave Dungeon follows the adventurer Al as she explores Belfer Island in search of powerful Magic Items and the crystals that give them their abilities. The dungeon RPG mixes exploration with party-building, crafting and class changes, allowing players to shape a group around each character’s strengths. 1
Its premise is straightforward: push deeper into the labyrinth, gather materials from enemies and treasure chests, then use those resources to improve the party. Inside System says the game is designed to be easy to learn while still offering customisation and tougher challenges for players who want to go further. The central dungeon, Godshill, is presented as the ultimate test for Al and her allies. 1
The second half of the collection, Dark Witch’s Story: COMBAT, rebuilds characters and creatures from the same series as a turn-based deck-building battler. Players choose a team of three from more than 40 characters and face opponents in best-of-three matches. Each round is divided into Support and Main phases, with medals covering attacks, healing, buffs and debuffs. 1
Those medals are played using Syega Crystals, which build up during a match. The system also adds elemental advantages, character roles, Team Links and signature medals, giving the card battles more structure than a simple exchange of attacks. A single-player Quest Mode includes 45 quests, while progression comes through experience, new characters, new medals and skills. 1
The collection is not a new release for every platform. Brave Dungeon + Dark Witch’s Story: COMBAT originally launched on Switch in September 2017 before arriving on PC through Steam in August 2021. The PS5 release therefore gives the collection a new console home rather than introducing the games for the first time. 1
Inside System has not announced a new price in the available release information. The PlayStation Store listing is already open for wishlisting, with the launch set for October 24. The Steam version also remains available, where official store artwork shows the collection’s anime-styled party and battle presentation. 2
Our opinion
The PS5 version looks like a useful second chance for a niche double bill rather than a huge new RPG launch. Brave Dungeon supplies the familiar dungeon-crawling loop, while Dark Witch’s Story: COMBAT gives the collection a more unusual card-battle identity. That split should make the package more interesting than a straight port, especially for players who like compact RPG systems and character-heavy Japanese indie games.
The key question is value. The collection’s appeal depends on whether the two games feel like complementary parts of one package rather than unrelated extras. The PS5 release date is clear, and the wishlist page gives interested players a direct way to track it, but the final price and any platform-specific improvements will decide how compelling the move is. For now, October 24 is the date to watch.
