Aloft and Conan Exiles Enhanced are coming to PS5 in early 2027
Aloft and Conan Exiles Enhanced are coming to PS5 in early 2027, with a free upgrade promised for existing Conan Exiles owners.
Funcom is bringing Aloft and Conan Exiles Enhanced to PlayStation 5 in early 2027, giving console players two very different open-world survival adventures to look forward to. The announcement comes through the official PlayStation Blog, where Funcom communications manager Jarle Hrafn Grindhaug outlined what each release will contain.1
Aloft is the colourful, co-operative option. Players build homes on floating islands, turn those islands into skyships and explore a world threatened by fungal corruption. Funcom says the PS5 version will include the updates released during the PC game’s Early Access period, alongside the complete 1.0 experience and its new content, stories and improvements.1
The studio also points to five major updates already released for Aloft, covering wildlife, puzzles, combat improvements, glider customisation and expanded exploration. The game’s PS5 arrival is therefore being positioned as the complete version rather than a bare console port. Funcom says players will be able to explore alone or with friends, restore the ecosystem and brave hurricanes as they uncover more of the floating world.1
Conan Exiles Enhanced is taking a more brutal route. The PS5 edition will improve environments, characters, lighting and effects, while adding a redesigned user interface and broader quality-of-life improvements. The Isle of Siptah expansion will remain a separate purchase, but the new Legacy of the Giant-Kings story arc is planned as part of the console launch.1
Existing PlayStation owners will not be left behind. Funcom says players who own Conan Exiles on PlayStation will receive the Enhanced PS5 version for free. Purchased Bazaar items and downloadable content will carry over from PS4 to PS5, and buying either the PS4 or PS5 version will provide access to the other platform version.1
There is still one important gap: Funcom has not announced an exact release date for either game. The company says more details will follow, while both titles are available to wishlist through the PlayStation Store.1
Our opinion
This is a sensible two-game console push because the pair covers opposite ends of the survival genre. Aloft offers a brighter, more communal fantasy of building and restoring, while Conan Exiles Enhanced is aimed at players who want harsher exploration and a bigger technical upgrade. The free PS5 upgrade for existing Conan Exiles owners is the stronger consumer message, but the absence of firm dates means both announcements remain firmly in the “watch this space” category.

The announcement is notable because it combines a full Aloft console debut with a meaningful Conan Exiles upgrade rather than promising two vague ports. The eventual release dates, performance targets and PS5 feature details will determine whether that promise survives contact with the hardware.
