Wildercrown unveils new trailer for RuneScape-inspired MMO
Talk Alice Labs' upcoming MMO pairs classic skill progression with an in-game stock market and ambitious plans for a shared world.
Talk Alice Labs has released a new trailer for Wildercrown, an upcoming Windows PC MMO that blends RuneScape-inspired skill progression with a shared online world. The 90-second trailer arrived on 17 October, ahead of the game's planned Kickstarter campaign.1
The game is being developed for release through Steam. Its current prototype includes 15 skills, with players able to gather resources, craft equipment, complete quests and fight through dungeons. That familiar MMO foundation is paired with a more unusual idea: an in-game stock market where players can buy and sell shares in 50 fictional companies using in-game crowns.1
A broader MMO sandbox
Talk Alice Labs says the full game is planned to include player housing, pets, mounts, early motorcars, kingdom warfare and cooperative raids for groups of up to 50 players. A separate Underground Mines mode is intended to support groups of 10 players searching for resources and treasure.1
The developer is also planning AI-powered non-player characters with persistent memory, although those features are presented as part of the wider development plan rather than the current prototype. Planned post-launch features could be put to a player vote, with a 66% approval threshold required before development proceeds.1
The game's official Kickstarter page describes Wildercrown as a project built around training 15 skills, crafting gear, fighting bosses and trading on an in-game stock market. The campaign is currently listed as launching soon, so this is not a live crowdfunding campaign yet.2
What happens next
For now, Wildercrown is best understood as an early-stage project rather than a confirmed release. The new trailer gives players a clearer look at Talk Alice Labs' ambitions, but the larger promises — including large-scale raids, persistent-memory NPCs and the Underground Mines — remain planned features that may change during development.
The developer has not announced a final release date. Players interested in following the project can use the official Kickstarter page to receive a notification when the campaign launches.2
Our opinion
Wildercrown has a clear pitch: take the slow-burn progression of a classic MMO, then add a player-facing economy and a more ambitious social sandbox. The stock market is a more distinctive hook than another list of combat classes, while the planned voting system suggests Talk Alice Labs wants the community involved in deciding what gets built.
The important caveat is timing. The Kickstarter campaign has not launched and several of the most eye-catching systems are still planned, so the trailer is a reason to watch the project rather than proof that the full MMO is close to release. If Talk Alice Labs can turn that ambitious feature list into a coherent playable world, Wildercrown could offer a genuinely unusual alternative to the usual fantasy-MMO formula.
