Stellar Blade Complete Edition shows off Switch 2 Photo Mode
Shift Up’s latest trailer shows off the poses and expressions coming with Stellar Blade Complete Edition’s Switch 2 Photo Mode.
Stellar Blade Complete Edition is bringing its Photo Mode to Switch 2, and Shift Up’s latest trailer gives the feature a proper showcase. The footage highlights the mode’s poses, facial expressions and other options for composing shots in the action game’s post-apocalyptic world.1
The new trailer follows several other videos for the Switch 2 edition, including showcases for collectibles, the Boss Challenge mode, environments and a Bayonetta collaboration. The release is shaping up as a feature-led reintroduction of Stellar Blade rather than a simple port announcement: Nintendo’s store listing confirms that the Complete Edition is built for Switch 2 and that a demo is available to try.12
Stellar Blade originally launched on PS5 and later PC. The Steam listing identifies Shift Up as the developer and describes the game’s fast melee combat, post-apocalyptic setting and EVE’s mission to reclaim Earth from the Naytiba.3 The Complete Edition is scheduled to launch on Switch 2 on 5 November 2026, according to the source report.1
What the trailer adds
Photo Mode is a sensible focus for a game already built around dramatic character poses and detailed environments. The trailer’s emphasis on expressions and pose options suggests that Shift Up is selling the Switch 2 release not only as a way to play the campaign, but also as a version that lets players spend time staging their own images. That is an editorial reading of the footage, rather than a claim that the mode changes the core combat system.1
The broader trailer sequence also gives prospective Switch 2 players a clearer picture of what the Complete Edition is trying to offer. The Boss Challenge and environment videos point towards combat and visual presentation, while the Photo Mode trailer is aimed at the creative side of the package. The Switch 2 demo gives players a chance to test the hardware version before launch.12
Our opinion
This is the kind of follow-up trailer that earns its place when a publisher is preparing a familiar game for a new platform. Photo Mode is not a replacement for new story content, but it is a useful way to show off Stellar Blade’s character work and environments while making the Switch 2 edition feel more deliberate than a bare re-release. The 5 November launch date leaves interested players time to try the demo and decide whether the new version’s feature set is enough to justify another trip through the game.12
