Goddess of Victory: NIKKE conjures a Halloween Belorta

Goddess of Victory: NIKKE is turning Belorta into an SSR Pumpkin Witch for its Little Witch Trick Halloween event, and the game has booked its 4th anniversary livestream for 24 October.

Belorta is getting her first SSR version in Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, and the game is dressing her for Halloween to do it. Belorta: Pumpkin Witch was revealed on the game's own YouTube channel on 3 October as an SSR supporter for the Little Witch Trick event, carrying the Candy Shot rocket launcher and dealing Water damage.

What the Halloween patch adds

The promoted version keeps her Tetra Line affiliation and her place in The Carronades squad, and her kit is built around buffing the team's attack rather than carrying the damage herself. That matches the role she filled as a launch SR, now with numbers that suit a headline banner.

The patch also brings a separate costume for Crust, previewed on the same channel on 29 September as Treat Chef. NIKKE's update notice puts the Halloween build after maintenance on 8 October, with the seasonal event running alongside it.

A 4th anniversary stream is booked

The Halloween event is not the only entry on Shift Up's calendar. The game has booked its 4th Anniversary Livestream for 24 October, with the broadcast listed on the game's channel ahead of the date. Four years places Goddess of Victory: NIKKE among the longer-running live service shooters of its generation.

Our opinion

Belorta is a telling choice for a Halloween headline unit. She has been in the roster since launch as an SR, so this is the first time Shift Up has decided a launch-day supporting character can carry a seasonal banner on her own. That is a cheaper bet than designing a brand-new NIKKE from scratch, and a warmer one than selling yet another limited version of a character everyone already chases.

The anniversary stream a fortnight later is the commercially important half. Halloween banners and anniversary banners draw on the same wallets, and putting a seasonal event and a fourth-anniversary reveal roughly two weeks apart keeps NIKKE in players' feeds for the whole of October instead of for one weekend of pumpkin art.
