VANRAN slips to early 2027 after new trailer
BECUZUS’s dark-fantasy action RPG now targets early 2027, with its giant-climbing combat hook still intact.
VANRAN is moving from its previously announced December 2026 window to early 2027, according to a new trailer shown during the ID@Xbox and IGN Showcase. Developer BECUZUS has not announced a specific launch date, so the delay currently amounts to a broader release window rather than a fixed postponement date.1
What changed
The upcoming third-person dark-fantasy action RPG was first announced with a December 2026 target. Its latest trailer now points to early 2027, giving the independent studio more time to finish a game built around momentum-heavy combat, parries and guard breaks. VANRAN is planned for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.1
The game follows Caleb, a former warrior who rebels against the royalty he once served before becoming a slave in the Demon Realm. BECUZUS says players will explore a branching story in which decisions affect the rebellion and its ending. The developer also promises scalable difficulty and support features for newcomers, although those systems have yet to be tested outside the studio’s demonstrations.1
VANRAN’s central hook is its Chain system, which links traversal and combat. The player can keep moving between attacks, parries and guard breaks rather than treating exploration and fighting as separate modes. Battles with enormous beings called the Govu add a vertical twist: players must climb these creatures during multi-stage encounters, a concept that recalls Shadow of the Colossus without making VANRAN a remake or sequel.1
The Steam listing also confirms that the game is being developed by BECUZUS and describes its dark-fantasy rebellion premise.2 The new window leaves the project close enough to watch, but not close enough to treat the December date as current.
Our opinion
A delay from a month to a season is hardly dramatic, but it is useful information when a game’s entire pitch depends on ambitious combat and giant-scale encounters. VANRAN’s trailer has a clear identity; the important question now is whether BECUZUS can make the Chain system feel as fluid in a full game as it looks in a showcase. Early 2027 gives the developer room to answer that question properly rather than rushing to preserve an old date.
