UFC 6 adds fighters and gameplay changes in UFC 333 update
EA Sports UFC 6’s UFC 333 Fight Week update adds three fighters, free championship skins and a long list of gameplay and stability fixes.
EA SPORTS UFC 6 has added two rostered fighters, one Fighter Pass character, five free championship skins and a sizeable set of gameplay fixes as part of its UFC 333 Fight Week update. The update went live on 15 October, according to EA’s official breakdown.1
Gabriel Bonfim joins the welterweight division alongside Joselyne Edwards in women’s bantamweight. Benson Henderson, represented by his UFC 144-era appearance, is available through the UFC 6 Fighter Pass. EA describes the trio as bringing new striking, grappling and counter-play options to the roster.1
The Championship Skin Collection gives owners of the Standard or Ultimate Edition five free looks inspired by Conor McGregor at UFC 205, Jon Jones at UFC 309, Sean O’Malley at UFC 299, Alex Pereira at UFC 320 and Ilia Topuria at UFC 317. Each skin can be claimed individually from the in-game Fight Store until 16 November at 10am PT, although an online connection is required.1
What changed in the gameplay
EA has continued tuning UFC 6’s ground game. Fighters can act sooner after cancelled transition fakes and after several ground-and-pound outcomes, including posture breaks, sweeps, reversals and elbows. The update also fixes issues involving takedown stamina, parries, diving punches, hit detection and the notorious defensive “Bobble Head” behaviour.1
Heavy roundhouse and calf kicks are now two frames faster, although their base damage has been reduced slightly. The Anvil Flow State’s damage and duration bonuses have also fallen from 35% to 25%. Alongside those balance changes are fixes for crashes, career-mode softlocks, CPU behaviour, animation errors, menu problems and unlocalised text.1
EA is also discounting UFC 6’s Standard Edition by 30% on PlayStation and Xbox through 21 October. That offer is separate from the free skins, but it means new players can access the collection while the redemption window remains open.1
Our opinion
This is a more substantial update than a simple promotional tie-in. The new fighters and skins provide the obvious headline, but the ground-game responsiveness and defensive fixes are the changes most likely to affect every match. The short redemption window makes the Fight Store collection worth checking before it expires, while the balance tweaks suggest EA is still actively responding to how players are using the game.
The update does not promise a wholesale overhaul of UFC 6. Instead, it focuses on reducing friction, correcting edge cases and adding a little more roster variety — a sensible approach for a live sports game heading into another Fight Week.
