Stranded Deep 2 reveals desert survival setting and targets Steam Early Access
North Beach Games has revealed Stranded Deep 2, a desert survival sequel built around an endless river and a floating home.

Stranded Deep 2 is swapping tropical isolation for a desert, but it has kept the important bit: making every resource feel like it might be the one thing standing between you and a miserable digital death.
What’s actually going on: North Beach Games and North Beach Games Prague have revealed the survival sequel with a trailer and first screenshots. The new setting is a desert wilderness built around an endless river, where players gather resources, craft equipment and construct a floating home.
The game is led by Stranded Deep co-creator Sam Edwards and is planned for Early Access on PC through Steam. The Steam listing confirms the desert environment, river-based survival, crafting and the floating-home premise.
There is currently no confirmed Early Access date or price in the verified material. North Beach Games says it plans to support the game with ongoing content updates, but those plans should not be treated as guaranteed delivery dates until a roadmap is published.
Why you should care: the river gives the sequel a more defined survival loop than simply wandering across another large map. It can act as a source of water, transport and danger, while a floating base sounds like the sort of construction project that begins with a sensible raft and ends with an architecturally questionable mansion.
Our opinion
The desert-and-river setup is a promising change of scenery for Stranded Deep 2, and Sam Edwards’ involvement gives the sequel a useful connection to the original. We would keep this one on the watch list until North Beach Games confirms the Early Access date, price and how much of the promised long-term content is ready to launch.
