Sony pulls three first-party games from PlayStation Store amid pricing error

Sony has pulled Knack 2, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and God of War III Remastered from the North American PlayStation Store, according to Kotaku ¹. The listings appear to have vanished after a pricing error, rather than as part of a confirmed permanent delisting.

What happened

Kotaku reports that the three games stopped appearing in PlayStation Store searches in North America. Players who already own them can still download them from their libraries, according to the report ¹.

The apparent trigger is a pricing problem: God of War III Remastered was reportedly listed for roughly 50 cents on the Mexican PlayStation Store. Kotaku says it contacted Sony for clarification, but no response was included in the report ¹.

Why it matters

The official PlayStation product page for Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection currently marks the game as “Not available for purchase”, while confirming its Sony Interactive Entertainment publisher details ². That supports the basic availability change, although it does not establish why the listings disappeared.

This is a useful reminder that digital ownership depends on a platform continuing to sell and support a listing. Existing owners appear to retain access through their libraries, but new buyers cannot rely on a storefront listing remaining available indefinitely.

Our opinion

A pricing mistake would make this a temporary nuisance rather than a new industry policy, but the incident still highlights the awkward gap between buying a digital licence and owning a permanent copy. Sony should explain what happened and restore the affected listings once the pricing issue is fixed.
