Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader's last DLC slips to December
Owlcat Games has pushed Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader's final expansion out of September, offering Season Pass 2 refunds as it confirms the new companion and archetype.

Owlcat Games has pushed Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader's final expansion out of September and into December, closing the book on the Koronus Expanse roughly three years after the game launched.
Processional of the Damned was meant to arrive this month. In a Steam community post the studio apologises for the wait, says the expansion will not be ready in time, and sets the release window to December 2026, which it does not expect to move any further. Being late is better than rushing the expansion at all costs, Owlcat writes, promising a final expansion worth the extra time in the oven.
What is actually in the expansion
A sneak peek published minutes later confirms the shape of the content. The headline addition is Stella, a Miraculist and an unsanctioned psyker raised by the Ecclesiarchy to be a living weapon. Her powers show as purifying flame and righteous divination, her eyes bleed and the cracks in her cold porcelain skin haemorrhage when she channels the Emperor's will, and her order treats her as a miracle rather than a witch. Mechanically she brings the Psychic Trail, an aura whose size grows as the veil degrades, plus the new Zealot melee archetype and a Madness mechanic that touches the rest of your retinue.
The expansion also adds new quests woven through the main story, new gear and encounters, and fresh enemies from the Arch Enemy and Aeldari rosters. Owlcat describes it as fully integrated into the base game in the same way as the earlier expansions, rather than bolted on as a separate campaign.
The refund clause
Because the delay lands on content people have already paid for, Owlcat is offering refunds of Season Pass 2 through Steam Customer Support to anyone who bought it expecting the expansion on time. The studio is blunt about the consequences: taking the refund removes Processional of the Damned and the Infinite Museion from your account and breaks any saved games made with the Infinite Museion content active, and players who want to carry on with those saves need to buy Infinite Museion separately. The Appearance Pack from Season Pass 2 is a kinder story: it becomes free and folds into the base game for everyone, though that change reaches other platforms a little later.
Our opinion
Owlcat's handling of this is better than most studio delay notices. Naming the refund route, spelling out exactly which saves will break and which downloadable content will vanish from your library, and making the Appearance Pack free for everyone who keeps their pass is candour that publishers usually bury in a support article. The flip side is that a delay announced in the same breath as a content tease is still a delay, and anyone who bought Season Pass 2 expecting a September release has been waiting on a promise that has already moved once. December is a crowded month for role-playing games too, which means the last chapter of the von Valancius story will fight for attention in a slot it would have owned outright in a quiet September.
