Level 5 announced during the Level 5 Vision 2026 Dream livestream on Thursday that its Professor Layton and the Curious Village ( Layton Kyōju to Fushigi na Machi ) game is getting a remake for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam in 2027. The company streamed a trailer:

Level 5 also streamed a new trailer for its Professor Layton and The New World of Steam ( Layton Kyōju to Jōki no Shinsekai ) game :

The company also streamed a behind-the-scenes video for the game's theme song. Joe Hisaishi ( Studio Ghibli films) is composing the theme song "The New World" performed by Lilas.

This is a useful announcement for fans watching the project’s next move, but the finished result still has to earn its place. The trailer and release information make this worth tracking; the real verdict can wait until the game or anime shows more than a promising headline.
