Pokémon x Beats Pill launches October 15 with Pikachu and Mimikyu
The special-edition Beats Pill pairs Pikachu and Mimikyu artwork with 24-hour battery life, a Poké Ball charm and a 15 October launch.
The Pokémon x Beats Pill is due to launch on October 15, pairing Pikachu and Mimikyu artwork with Beats’ portable speaker for the franchise’s 30th anniversary. The special edition will cost $149.99 in the US and £149.99 in the UK, according to Beats’ official product page.1
What is included
The speaker uses the standard Beats Pill design but adds a character-covered grille, a grey carry lanyard with a Poké Ball charm and special-edition stickers. Beats says it supports up to 24 hours of battery life and carries an IP67 dust and water-resistance rating.1
The launch is scheduled for 8am PT on Thursday, October 15. In the US, it will be sold through Apple and Target; UK buyers can order through Apple and Argos. The product page says availability will also cover China through Apple and Douyin.1
Why it matters
The release is another 30th-anniversary collaboration rather than a new game launch. Game Rant reported that the speaker is part of a wider run of Pokémon anniversary merchandise and hardware tie-ins.2 That makes the Beats Pill more interesting as a piece of licensed fan gear than as a new piece of audio hardware.
The speaker otherwise retains the familiar Beats Pill feature set: USB-C charging, the ability to link two speakers and a power-bank function for compatible devices.2 Buyers are therefore paying for the Pokémon design and included accessories, not a substantially different audio platform.
Our opinion
This is a neat anniversary release because the artwork is built into the grille rather than being a removable skin, and the Poké Ball charm gives the bundle a small extra flourish. The £149.99 UK price is also easier to judge against the regular Beats Pill than a heavily inflated collector’s edition would be. The main question is availability: a limited character collaboration can disappear quickly, so fans should check the official listings when they open rather than assume every retailer will carry it.
The Pokémon x Beats Pill launches on October 15, with regional availability through Apple and selected retail partners.
