PGA TOUR 2K25 Season 8 adds a free Power Tee Shot

2K has opened Season 8 with a fresh Clubhouse Pass, a risk-and-reward shot type and a reset run at ranked tours.

PGA TOUR 2K25 has moved into Season 8, with 2K's own key art dating the run from 30 September to 23 December 2026. The season opens a fresh Clubhouse Pass, resets the ranked ladders and adds one genuinely new shot type to the swing model.

That addition is the Power Tee Shot, unlocked on the free reward track at tier 25. It buys extra distance off the tee for woods, hybrids and long irons, and it charges for that distance in accuracy and shot forgiveness. In practice it is a gamble you take on the tee box and then live with for the rest of the hole.

What is in the Clubhouse Pass

The free tiers hand out the usual mix of apparel and gear: a PUMA Wild West snapback, a Bridgestone Tour B XS ball and the Galactic Amber TaylorMade Spider X Copper putter. Paying for Clubhouse Pass Premium opens a reward at every tier instead of the free track's spread, with an Original Penguin two-button short sleeve, Oakley Holbrook sunglasses, a TravisMathew snapback, a Reebok three-button polo and a white Mizuno snapback among the headline items.

Ranked tours and the store

Weekly Ranked Tours events return, and both the Ranked Matchmaking and Ranked Tours leaderboards have been reset for the new season, so the climb starts from scratch. 2K has also refreshed the PGA TOUR Superstore with Season 8 drops. The announcement is blunt about the tone of it: there is no offseason, the courses stay as they are, and the pitch is simply more golf, more often.

Our opinion

Season passes for a golf sim live or die on whether the rewards are things a golfer would actually want in the bag, and 2K has quietly learned that lesson: a Bridgestone ball and a Spider X putter read as gear rather than filler. The more interesting move is putting the Power Tee Shot on the free track. This is a series that spent years teaching players that greed off the tee gets punished, and Season 8 is the first time it has openly sold recklessness as a reward and then made everyone pay the same price for it, regardless of whether they bought the pass. That is a better retention pitch than another set of cosmetics, and it keeps the three-month season feeling like a sport rather than a shop.
