PEAK is bringing its deliberately dangerous co-op climbing to PlayStation 5 on October 22, with a physical edition following on December 9 for $19.99. The console release will also arrive on Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2, with cross-play promised across platforms. 1

What is changing

Landfall and Aggro Crab’s survival adventure first launched on PC in June 2025. Its console arrival includes the updates released since launch, including the Gloom and The Citadel biomes and the August expansion, The Final Ascent. 1

The game turns a climb up a shifting mountain into a team exercise in risk management. Up to four players can work together through proximity chat, share climbing equipment and rescue one another when a jump or route goes wrong. Players can also tackle the mountain alone offline. 2

The physical PS5 release is being made with Skybound Games. It includes the game disc, a Buddy Code for a friend and a printed Scout Passport with customisation stickers. The disc is intended to include the complete game and its released updates, rather than asking buyers to start with a bare launch build. 1

That matters for PEAK because the game’s appeal is tied to shared discovery. A physical package that includes the current content gives new groups a cleaner starting point, while cross-play means the platform split should not automatically divide friends. The Buddy Code is an especially neat fit for a game whose best moments tend to arrive when a confident plan falls apart.

Release dates and platforms

The digital version launches on PlayStation 5 on October 22. The physical PS5 edition follows on December 9 for $19.99, with pre-orders available through selected retailers. Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2 versions are scheduled for the same digital launch day. 1

Our opinion

This is a useful console expansion rather than a small port announcement. PEAK already has a strong co-op hook, and the combination of a full-content physical edition, cross-play and a low $19.99 disc price gives curious console groups a straightforward way into the climb. The only caveat is that the most important promise — smooth cross-platform play — will need to hold up once the new audiences arrive.
