One Piece is officially coming to Fortnite

Epic Games has confirmed that One Piece is coming to Fortnite as part of the game’s next mini-season, Treasure Hunters. The crossover will begin on November 1, following downtime for the current season, according to Polygon’s report on the reveal. ¹

The confirmation ends weeks of speculation around a pirate-themed Fortnite update. A teaser posted by the Fortnite account showed the name Treasure Hunters and an 11.1 date before the larger reveal pointed to the Going Merry, the first ship of the Straw Hat Pirates. ²

The collaboration is with the One Piece anime rather than Netflix’s live-action adaptation. That distinction is visible in the teaser’s use of the Going Merry and its Straw Hat Pirates imagery, giving fans a clearer idea of which version of the franchise is being brought into Fortnite. ¹³

Fortnite has not yet detailed the full set of outfits, items or quests arriving with Treasure Hunters. The teaser does, however, show several pirate crew references alongside the crossover reveal, so more announcements are likely before the mini-season starts. Players have until the current season ends on November 1 to finish any outstanding Battle Pass progress before the downtime. ¹²

Our opinion

This is the sort of crossover Fortnite is built for: instantly recognisable imagery, a strong visual hook and enough unanswered detail to keep the community watching. The important news is confirmation, not speculation about the eventual item shop. Until Epic lists the rewards, the Going Merry reveal is the safest indication of what Treasure Hunters is actually promising.
