One Piece: Grand Gourmet runs at 30fps on Switch 2 and Switch
One Piece: Grand Gourmet is capped at 30fps on every platform, with Switch 2 targeting 4K docked and 1080p handheld.
One Piece: Grand Gourmet will run at 30 frames per second on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC, with no 60fps mode planned for any version. Bandai Namco has also confirmed the resolution targets for both Nintendo consoles ahead of the game's 23 October launch. 12
The technical details
On Nintendo Switch 2, the restaurant-management game will output at 4K when docked and 1080p in handheld mode. The original Switch version will run at 1080p docked and 720p handheld. Despite the newer hardware, both Switch versions are capped at 30fps, matching the PC release rather than offering a higher frame-rate option. 1
The resolution figures are the maximum targets supplied by the publisher, so they describe the game's output modes rather than guaranteeing a fully native internal render in every scene. That distinction matters more on Switch 2, where games can use reconstruction or dynamic scaling while still presenting a 4K output signal.
Bandai Namco has also confirmed that there will be no paid upgrade pack for owners of the Switch version. The Switch edition will nevertheless be playable on Switch 2 through backwards compatibility, meaning existing owners can move to the newer console without buying the game again. 1
The game itself turns the Baratie restaurant into a management-sim playground. Players work with the Straw Hat Crew to create menus, gather ingredients, customise the venue and manage a cast of more than 400 characters from the wider One Piece world. The official Steam listing identifies the same restaurant-building focus and lists the PC version for release alongside the console editions. 2
Our opinion
A 30fps cap is a slightly odd choice for a colourful management game, especially on Switch 2, but the resolution targets should make the sharper docked presentation appealing on compatible displays. The more important practical detail is the lack of an upgrade path: anyone deciding between the two Nintendo versions should treat the Switch 2 edition as a separate purchase, not a cheap technical patch for an existing copy.
One Piece: Grand Gourmet launches on 23 October 2026 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PC via Steam and mobile platforms. 12
