Nintendo Switch 2 file sizes: Stellar Blade, Minecraft and more
Nintendo’s latest eShop listings reveal the storage requirements for Stellar Blade, Minecraft and dozens of other Switch and Switch 2 games.
Nintendo’s latest eShop listings provide a useful look at how much storage upcoming and newly listed games will need on Switch and Switch 2. The biggest number in this batch belongs to Stellar Blade Complete Edition, which occupies 25.4GB on Switch 2.1
The biggest Switch 2 downloads
The list also includes Anomalith at 14.6GB and Cities: Skylines – Expanded Edition at 6.0GB. Steins;Gate Reboot needs 8.0GB, while Hello Kitty Party Land uses 5.9GB and Village in the Shade takes 5.6GB. Nintendo’s listing puts Minecraft at 1.2GB on Switch 2.1
Several smaller releases sit below 3GB, including The Seance of Blake Manor at 2.1GB, Frog Sqwad at 2.0GB and Joe & Mac Retro Collection at 1.1GB. At the other end of the scale, Glow Box is listed at 86MB.
Switch storage remains varied
The standard Switch listings cover an even wider spread. Love Love Mystery Club is listed at 13.2GB, followed by 9 R.I.P. Sequel at 6.3GB and Steins;Gate Reboot at 5.9GB. Hello Kitty Party Land is 3.4GB on Switch, while Village in the Shade is 3.3GB.1
Many of the remaining games are comparatively modest downloads: Goodboy Galaxy is 337MB, Fallen City Brawl is 225MB and Glow Box is 83MB. The figures come from eShop listings across North America, Europe and Japan, so regional listings may change before release.1
Our opinion
File-size roundups are not glamorous, but they are practical. The 25.4GB requirement for Stellar Blade Complete Edition is the number Switch 2 owners will notice first, while Minecraft remains relatively easy to fit alongside other games. These figures are best treated as planning information rather than permanent specifications: patches, updates and regional packaging can all change the final download.
For context, Stellar Blade is an action-adventure game from SHIFT UP, and its official PC listing confirms the identity of the game used for this story’s hero artwork.2
