Mega Man: Dual Override reveals Tank Man as its latest Robot Master

Capcom has shown off Tank Man, a volcanic-stage Robot Master who joins Mega Man: Dual Override's growing line-up of bosses.

Tank Man, the newly revealed Robot Master from Mega Man: Dual Override

Mega Man: Dual Override has introduced another Robot Master: Tank Man, a hot-headed oil manager whose stage takes place in a volcanic setting. The reveal adds another face to Capcom's still-growing boss roster for the new platform adventure, which is scheduled to arrive in 2027.1

Nintendo Life reports that Capcom shared Tank Man footage during its Paris Games Week panel. The clip gives a brief look at the Robot Master's stage as well as the character himself, whose design turns an industrial oil tank into a broad, heavily armoured opponent. Capcom's description says Tank Man has reached boiling point after going unacknowledged, setting up a boss built around pressure, heat and slippery industrial imagery.1

What the reveal tells us

Robot Masters sit at the end of each stage and stand between Mega Man, Proto Man and the next part of the campaign. Tank Man therefore appears to be more than a character showcase: his volcanic arena gives the game another distinct setting to add to the wider sequence of themed stages. The reveal also confirms that Capcom is continuing to present the game's bosses one at a time rather than unveiling the entire line-up in a single information dump.12

Tank Man follows the earlier reveals of Twinkle Girl and Jet Man. Nintendo Life says eight Robot Masters are expected in total, leaving five more bosses for Capcom to show before launch. The publisher has not yet detailed every stage, weapon or weakness, so the reveal is focused on the character's identity and visual hook rather than a full breakdown of the encounter.12

The footage also reinforces the game's two-hero set-up. Tank Man is presented as another obstacle for both Mega Man and Proto Man, rather than a one-off opponent disconnected from the central campaign. That matters because each new Robot Master gives Capcom another opportunity to show how the pair's abilities and routes through the game will differ.1

Our opinion

Tank Man is a strong reveal because the design communicates its theme immediately without losing the chunky, expressive silhouette that makes a Robot Master readable. The volcanic stage is a useful contrast to the earlier announcements, although the real test will be whether the arena turns that visual idea into a memorable fight rather than simply a hot backdrop. With five bosses still to come, Capcom has plenty of room to make the remaining reveals feel meaningfully different.

For now, Mega Man: Dual Override remains a 2027 release. Capcom has shown Tank Man, but it has not announced a more specific launch date or confirmed the complete set of platforms in the material cited here.12
