I Am Your Beast is now out on Switch 2 and Switch
Strange Scaffold's fast-paced covert-revenge shooter is now available on Nintendo's current and new hybrid consoles for $19.99.
I Am Your Beast has launched on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch, giving Strange Scaffold's compact covert-revenge shooter another pair of platforms to stalk across. The game is available through the Nintendo eShop for $19.99, according to the latest update from Nintendo Everything 1.
What is new
The Switch 2 and Switch release follows the game's PC launch and brings its short, high-speed campaign to Nintendo's consoles. You play Alphonse Harding, a retired secret agent dragged into one last confrontation with the Covert Operations Initiative. When Harding refuses another mission, the organisation turns the North American wilderness into a hunting ground — and gives him plenty of reasons to fight back.
The pitch is deliberately lean. Rather than stretching a familiar military shooter across a huge map, I Am Your Beast builds a series of replayable micro-sandboxes around speed, improvisation and spectacularly messy takedowns. Harding can climb trees, turn enemy equipment against its owners and use a mix of pistols, sniper rifles and bear traps while trying to beat his previous times.
The campaign contains more than 20 fully voiced levels, with optional objectives for players who want to chase faster routes. Its comic-book-inspired visual style is paired with a soundtrack from composer RJ Lake, whose previous work includes El Paso, Elsewhere and Unbeatable. The result is a game that treats every level like a compact problem to solve rather than a corridor to clear once.
Why it matters
Nintendo's platforms are a natural fit for a game built around short, repeatable bursts. The Switch version makes the release more accessible for players who prefer handheld sessions, while Switch 2 owners get the same sharp, kinetic premise on newer hardware. The official Steam listing describes the game as a fast-paced covert-revenge thriller built around comic-book micro-sandboxes 2.
There is also a useful distinction between this release and I Am Your Beast VR. The VR game is a separate adaptation, not the version arriving on Nintendo's consoles. That matters because the Switch release is the original flat-screen campaign, with its emphasis on routes, timing and replayable objectives intact.
Our opinion
This is a sensible platform expansion for a game whose best idea is that a small level can support a surprising number of solutions. Switch players are not being asked to commit to an enormous open world or a 100-hour campaign: they can drop into a mission, make a mess, then try to do it more cleanly next time. The $19.99 price also keeps the experiment in impulse-buy territory.
The caveat is that its appeal depends on enjoying repetition with purpose. If chasing a faster route, a cleaner takedown or an optional objective sounds like work rather than play, the compact structure may feel slight. For everyone else, I Am Your Beast looks like exactly the kind of focused, replayable action game that benefits from a portable platform.
