GTA 6 PC release reportedly targeted for early 2027

Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is currently due on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 19 November, but a new report claims the PC version could follow in the first quarter of 2027. ¹

What the report says

GamesBeat says four industry sources familiar with Rockstar Games’ plans have placed the PC release in Q1 2027. The sources are anonymous, and Rockstar did not comment before publication, so this is a report rather than a confirmed launch announcement. ¹

That timing would mean a considerably shorter gap than the PC wait for Grand Theft Auto V. The report fits with wider expectations that Rockstar will eventually bring the game to PC, although the company has not announced a PC platform or PC release date for GTA 6.

What Rockstar has confirmed

Rockstar’s official Grand Theft Auto VI site currently lists 19 November 2026 for the console release and names PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the supported platforms. It does not list a PC version or PC release date. ²

The report links the possible PC timing to Rockstar’s interest in user-generated content and the roleplay ecosystem built around Grand Theft Auto V. That is context, not evidence that a PC port has been formally scheduled.

There is also no confirmed launch date for GTA 6 Online. Comments and rumours around the online component should therefore be treated separately from the alleged PC release window.

Our opinion

This is worth watching, but not worth treating as a done deal. A Q1 2027 PC launch would be a notable change from Rockstar’s old pattern of long console-first gaps, yet the concrete claim here comes from unnamed sources and Rockstar’s own site still lists no PC version. Until Rockstar or Take-Two says otherwise, early 2027 is a reported target, not a release date.

For now, PC players have a useful window to keep in mind — and no reason to cancel their plans around it.
