Flame and Blame brings chaotic firefighting to PC
RetroStyle Games’ upcoming co-op firefighting game turns rescue missions into chaotic four-player disasters.
Flame and Blame is turning firefighting into a four-player slapstick emergency. RetroStyle Games’ upcoming PC title is planned for 2027, with a Steam page already live for wishlisting.12
A fire crew with terrible luck
The game can be played solo or online with up to four players. Each mission starts at the fire station, before crews collect their equipment and head to a burning building. Hoses, axes and other tools are all part of the rescue work, but the deliberately chaotic physics mean even basic jobs can go spectacularly wrong.
Players will deal with electrical cables, gas leaks and fire tornadoes while evacuating residents and helping anyone trapped inside. The Steam listing and source report also highlight stranger rescue jobs, including saving animals, houseplants and a particularly unfortunate panda.12
Built for cooperative chaos
The comedy comes from teamwork as much as the fires. One player can break through a wall while another drags a civilian to safety, with hoses capable of sending crew members flying when things get out of hand. RetroStyle Games has not announced a firm launch date beyond 2027.
Our opinion
The premise is clear rather than revolutionary, but Flame and Blame has the right ingredients for a messy co-op session: a simple objective, physics that invite mistakes and enough hazards to make every rescue feel different. The 2027 window means the final test will be whether the chaos stays readable once four players are making bad decisions at once.
