Naruto Mobile global version announced

Naruto Mobile is coming to iOS and Android worldwide, more than a decade after the anime-style fighting game first launched in China. Bandai Namco and MoreFun Studios announced the global version as part of the official Naruto Project Rasengan programme. ¹²

A global release without a date

The global edition will bring the mobile fighter to players outside China, where it originally launched on 19 May 2016. The announcement confirms iOS and Android platforms, but does not yet give the release date or detail which territories will be included at launch. ¹²

The official description promises anime-style ninjutsu, spectacular Ultimate Jutsu attacks, fast-paced battles and a roster of recognisable shinobi. Players will be able to collect characters and build their own match-ups, although the global version’s full content plan has not been outlined yet. ¹

Part of Project Rasengan

The announcement is one part of Project Rasengan, a three-year plan for new Naruto media running from 2027 to 2029. The wider programme also includes a Naruto x Ninku anime limited series, a Naruto card game and a new Naruto: Shadow Rising manga, alongside other projects still to be announced. ¹

What we still need to know

Bandai Namco and MoreFun Studios have not announced a launch date, pre-registration details or regional rollout schedule for Naruto Mobile. Until those details arrive, the global announcement confirms the project rather than a game that is available to download today.

Our opinion

A global launch gives Naruto Mobile a second life at exactly the right moment for the franchise’s wider Project Rasengan push. The long wait since its Chinese debut means this is more than a routine localisation, but the missing date and territory list matter. For now, the exciting bit is the promise of a fully supported international release; the practical details are still waiting in the wings.
