False Feed launches on Steam on 5 November with four-camera mystery puzzles
False Feed asks players to compare four surveillance recordings and uncover the one that contradicts the other three when it launches on Steam on 5 November.
False Feed (ウソツキカメラ) is a deduction game about finding the one false recording among four surveillance feeds. Developer and publisher Katarienumono says it will launch on Steam for PC on 5 November 2026, priced at ¥580 in Japan, with regional prices listed on the store page.12
Players take on a surveillance role and compare footage of the same event from different camera angles. The central trick is simple to explain but potentially demanding to execute: three recordings should describe the same chain of events, while one contains a contradiction. You can pause, rewind and move through footage frame by frame rather than relying on a countdown, making close observation the core skill.
The launch version contains 18 records spread across six work sites, including a factory, waterlock, warehouse and greenhouse. The store listing says the game supports English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Korean, alongside single-player play and Steam achievements.2
Answers are submitted in groups of three. If an assessment is rejected, players can revisit those recordings and change their choices. Once a group is approved, the game lets them review the correct answers and the reasoning behind them, turning each case into a small exercise in visual comparison rather than a one-shot guess.
Our opinion
False Feed has a sharper hook than a conventional hidden-object puzzle because the evidence is distributed across several viewpoints. The lack of a time limit should also make its tension come from noticing inconsistencies, not from wrestling with an arbitrary clock. The real test will be whether the 18 cases keep introducing fresh ways for footage to disagree, but a focused surveillance-room mystery is a welcome fit for players who enjoy methodical deduction.
Katarienumono has also confirmed that players may livestream the game, upload gameplay videos and share screenshots. The Steam page currently lists the release as upcoming, so this is a launch-date announcement rather than an out-now release.2
