Edge of Memories gets a 5 November release date

Nacon and Midgar Studio have dated Edge of Memories for 5 November, confirmed by the game's own Steam announcement and listing, with a Corrosion-ravaged continent to explore on Unreal Engine 5.

Edge of Memories protagonist Eline, white-haired in spiked armour threaded with red crystalline growths, standing against the glow of the Corrosion.

Edge of Memories has a date. Nacon and Midgar Studio confirmed a 5 November release in the game's own Steam announcement on 17 September, and the Steam listing now carries 5 Nov, 2026 against the release field.

It is a PC release as far as the store is concerned: Steam lists Windows as the only platform. Console players should wait for the publisher's own detail rather than reading a date off a store page that does not mention them.

A continent being eaten alive

The setting is the continent of Avaris, and it is losing. A plague called the Corrosion has already wrecked the Astryan continent elsewhere in the world and is now turning the fauna, flora and people of Avaris into grotesque abominations. Eline is an itinerant Soul Whisperer who fights it, and after a mysterious encounter she wakes up able to control the Corrosion inside her own body, which she is meant to use to end the apocalypse. She is helped by Ysoris, a mentor she did not ask for, and Kanta, a shaman prince of a lost tribe.

The world is Heryon, and the store invites players to rediscover it, so anyone who has spent time in Edge of Eternity will recognise the ground even though Avaris is new. Midgar Studio is building it in Unreal Engine 5 with an art direction it describes as inspired by Japanese animation, which is the sort of claim that either lands immediately or never does.

Fighting, riding and the hardware you will need

Combat is combo-driven: alternate rapid strikes with heavier techniques, customise your companions and time their skills for the moments that matter, then let rage build until you transform into a Berserker and finish things with a run of executions. Between fights there is traversal, and traversal has a cat. The Nekaroo is a feline mount you ride across Avaris to reach the parts of the map your legs will not manage.

The systems requirements are mid-range rather than punishing for an Unreal Engine 5 RPG: a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 machine, an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X, 12 GB of RAM, and a GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 GB, a Radeon RX 590 with 8 GB or an Intel Arc A580 with 8 GB. DirectX 12 and 22 GB of storage round it off.

An original narrative where every quest matters.

Our opinion

A confirmed date is a small piece of news, but the way this one arrived says something useful. There was no press release pushed through the usual wire, no embargo and no studio blog post: the announcement went up in the game's own Steam feed, which is where the people who had already wishlisted it actually are. That is a sensible way to date a mid-budget RPG, and it is a quietly brutal comment on how much a wire release is worth in 2026.

The game itself is a harder call. Avaris looks gorgeous and the Corrosion gives Midgar Studio a proper excuse to keep redesigning the same map as it spreads, which is a neat trick for a studio without a triple-A art budget. The risk is that a Soul Whisperer with apocalypse powers slides into the same power fantasy every action RPG offers, and that the berserker mode ends up being the only answer the combat has to any question. The demo that came out of Steam Next Fest is the honest test, and it is still sitting there for anyone who wants to make their own mind up before November.

What we know
  • Nacon and Midgar Studio have dated Edge of Memories for 5 November 2026, confirmed by the game's own Steam announcement on 17 September and its Steam listing
  • Steam lists Windows as the only platform, with a 22 GB install and a 12 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 590 minimum
  • The storefront still shows the game as coming soon, so the release has not flipped to purchasable yet
