EA has published a launch feedback update for EA Sports FC 27, outlining what its teams are monitoring after the football game’s first weeks on sale. The update covers manual defending, FUT Champions matchmaking, Career Mode transfers and matchmaking in The Grounds. 1

What EA is changing — and what it is still watching

EA says it designed FC 27’s manual defending to reward anticipation, positioning and timing rather than relying as heavily on AI teammates. The developer is monitoring how players adapt before making major changes, while also investigating reports that fullbacks can drop too deep and accidentally keep attackers onside. 1

FUT Champions matchmaking has already received a fix. EA says a tuning issue made the system create broader matchups than intended during the first weekend, and that it deployed a correction on 9 October. Career Mode has also received improvements through Title Updates 1.0.3 and 1.0.4, targeting excessive transfer requests and an overload of competing offers after an enquiry. 1

The developer is still tracking several other issues, including early kick-off goals, interceptions by lower-rated defenders, low driven shots near the post and questionable foul calls. Career Mode investigations include stamina, Dynamic OVR, the Team Management interface and newly generated players starting with unexpectedly high overall ratings. 1

The update also covers The Grounds, where EA is looking into Kickabouts matchmaking, slow menus and incorrect Attribute costs. Operation Sports reports that the feedback came from discussions across Discord, social media, Steam and EA’s forums, with no timetable attached to several of the remaining investigations. 2

Why this matters for players

A feedback post is not a patch-note promise, but it does show where EA is placing its attention after launch. The clearest completed action is the FUT Champions matchmaking fix; elsewhere, the language remains deliberately cautious, with “monitoring” and “investigating” appearing more often than firm delivery dates.

Our opinion

EA is doing the useful part of live-service communication here: naming the problems it has seen instead of pretending launch feedback does not exist. The frustrating bit is that players still cannot tell which investigations will become patches, or when. Until EA attaches dates and measurable fixes to the longer list, this is a credible status report rather than evidence that FC 27’s rough edges are resolved.

EA says it will continue sharing updates throughout the season as more feedback and data arrive. 1
