CONTROL Resonant 1.4.0 adds an endless New Game++ mode
Remedy's first big patch for CONTROL Resonant adds an endless New Game++, a Build Power readout and a long list of quality-of-life fixes.

What update 1.4.0 adds
Remedy Entertainment has pushed a 1.4.0 update to CONTROL Resonant, and the headline addition is an endless mode. New Game++ can now be played an unlimited number of times, rather than the single extra run the game allowed at launch.
The patch also tidies up how the game talks to the player. Build Power now appears on the Loadout screen instead of hiding inside the Stats & Effects menu, a notification icon flags new stock and upgrades at The Gap, and pinned upgrade materials are marked on the map so you no longer have to walk to a vendor to check whether it stocks them.
Quality-of-life changes
Combat in the Unknown Zone has been dialled back by 10 to 15 per cent. Radio dialogue gets its own volume slider, with separate balance for speakers, headphones and the DualSense controller speaker, and Assist Mode gains a Power Core Charge Duration multiplier running from 100 to 300 per cent. Map markers have been reworked after players reported them lingering too long, appearing in the wrong place or failing to clear.
Remedy writes that the notes list only the fixes it thinks players will notice — or find funny — rather than every change in the build. The same update carries a long run of crash and stability fixes gathered since the game launched on 24 September.
Our opinion
Leading a patch with an endless New Game++ is an odd choice and a telling one: CONTROL Resonant is a game whose players finish it and immediately want a reason to go back. The more revealing work is the boring kind. Build Power on the loadout screen, pinned materials on the map, less fighting in the Unknown Zone — none of that headlines a trailer, but it is what decides whether a second run feels like mastery or admin. A studio trimming combat intensity instead of adding more of it is reading its own feedback rather than its review scores, and if Remedy keeps this cadence the long tail of CONTROL Resonant will be built out of patches exactly like this one.
